Trains to Derby


It takes around an hour and a half to get from Derby to London, with two services an hour Monday to Saturday.  

There’s WiFi available on all our London-bound trains. Get online for a free 15 minutes in Standard Class, then from as little as £4 for the rest of your journey. And as always, it’s a complimentary extra in First Class.

If you’re looking to travel locally, trains from Derby to Sheffield are from a nippy 27 minutes. You can also pop along to Nottingham in just 25 minutes.

Derby station

The station offers:

The ticket office can be found in the main entrance and is open:

Monday to Friday: 04:55 – 22:45
Saturday: 04:55 – 22:45
Sunday: 06:20 – 23:00

The main entrance, where the taxi rank and bus stops are located, includes a Skylink bus service to East Midlands Airport. The Pride Park entrance offers the Park and Ride scheme to Derby city centre, as well as close access to the iPro Stadium and Pride Park Business Park.


The entire station is fully accessible for wheelchair users and those who need help with their mobility. There is also a lift available from the main station to the footbridge and platforms. Our staff are happy to help at any time of the day or night with any accessibility needs you have.
