What is PLUSBUS?

It’s a discount price ticket for unlimited bus travel around town that you buy with your train ticket. So you pay for your complete train and bus journey in one easy transactionPLUSBUS is available to 290 towns and cities across Britain. You can change between East Midlands Trains services and bus services with PLUSBUS at 32 stations, including: Bedford, Cambridge, Derby, Leicester, Liverpool, Nottingham, Peterborough, Sheffield and York.

How does it work?

Ask for PLUSBUS when buying your train ticket, for unlimited bus travel around town on all participating bus operators’ services. Your bus travel can be at the start, the finish, or both parts of your train journey. For each town there is one zone that covers the whole urban area. With your PLUSBUS ticket you can travel as much as you like by bus within this zone.

PLUSBUS can be added to most types of train ticket:

  • single,
  • day return,
  • period return,
  • season ticket (for set periods, to match the most popular train season ticket: 7-days, 1-month, 3-months, a year).

How much does it cost?

Most PLUSBUS ticket prices are around £2 to £4 a day, depending on the size of the town or city. With a Railcard you can save one-third off the PLUSBUS ticket price. Children (aged 5-15) pay half the adult PLUSBUS day ticket price.
