Disruption to trains between London St Pancras and Luton

A person has been hit by a train between London St Pancras and Luton. This is disrupting our trains on the London St Pancras/Nottingham/Sheffield route. 

At present the emergency services are expected on site at 0845. Network Rail are expected to arrive at 0850 to help reopen the line. 

All of our trains on the route cannot run in either direction between London St Pancras and Luton. 

At present we are expecting the line to fully reopen in the next 1 - 2 hours. Our normal train service is expected to resume on the affected routes at around 1300.

Your Advance purchase ticket may be used on other trains, than booked on the affected route. 

Off peak tickets may be used on other trains, than booked on the affected route. 

Our trains are likely to experience extended delays or alterations. Trains are also extremely busy. You should use alternative routes which remain the most comfortable and quickest journey options. Other train operators will accept East Midlands Trains tickets:
Sheffield to London Kings Cross via Doncaster.
Derby to London Euston via Birmingham.
Nottingham to London Kings Cross via Grantham.
Leicester to London Euston via Birmingham. 


We are currently sourcing a replacement bus service is running in both directions between Kettering & Northampton. This is only for customers travelling to Kettering and Wellingborough. 

These arrangements will remain in place until the line re-opens and the train service recovers.
